I am really surprised you do not have it already. =)
It is one of the best Gimp plug-in suites out there (394 new effects to date)
And David adds new ones all the time.

Look at it!
Just too awesome to let it undownloaded... GET IT! IT'S FUN!
Just refreshed the plug in and the filter count went up to 400! Not sure which are new though, there are so many to start with. ;D
I know i am loving the new wire-frame filters! =)
It is way too powerful just looking at the images
I'll try it soon!
Okay, something weird is happening .. GMIC crashed, error message, nothing helped, so I re-downloaded it, put it back into the original folder and now Gimp doesn't show the Menu point at all :O
Gimp reinstall doesn't work, Linux 64 bit version doesnt work (obviously) ...
Somebody here with experience in this?
omg how big is that file?????
Baum, check to see if G'MIC installed into your user files.(Where it should have)
If its not there (usually a GMIC folder in there), then install it into that directory (your user directory gimp 2.0 or whatever it is named). Restart Gimp.Gimp should always read your user directory for loading and initializing your files first and foremost.Any filter you place in there will be read by Gimp first, providing your pref folder path is set to it (which it does by default on install).
If that folder is damaged but there in your user directory, replacing it should fix it.
not even 2mb =)

All the package versions can be found here
It still doesn't work .. and uninstalling Gimp doesn't really uninstall it, it keeps the whole scripts and so on... grrr....
Are you sure its a problem with GMIC together with GIMP and not only GIMP?
Cause im using 64bit linux and I never had any problems
Did you go into your user docs and delete every rc file and the gimp folder and all its subfolders?
Sometimes a gimprc file can be found outside the gimp folder in user docs.
I was having trouble installing Python for gimp 2.6.11 on my laptop, until i went through the user docs folder in EVERY user folder and deleted them all. Then it installed perfectly...
If you installed Gimp for "all users" , those folders (the gimp 2.0 folders), will still be in those other user folders even if you un-install Gimp through control panel/add remove programs.
Are you using Windows or a different platform?
I installed 2.7.1 now (it's great btw, will you add it to your general Gimp section Rod?), and I'll try to install it at the 2.7.1 plugin files later ..
I added it to the current downloads stable and beta test version..in the mag contents. Is that what you meant?
You've got the "Gimp News" section in the magazine, and the new 2.7.1 should definately be mentioned, if not reviewed.
BTW: It still doesn't work .. grr
