    It would seem in the past, GimpTalk didn't have a dedicated server, and the Owners were out o the country. Woud've been a shame to see so many great resources gone to waste, so I'm glad to see it back up. Hopefully we don't lose anyone who came here in the absence of GimpTalk!

    So, Gimper is not doing so bad :)

    It supposed to show a popularity of a website (the lower the number the better) It shows browsing stats from people who have the alexa toolbar installed. The problem is that the users using the alexa toolbar are not really representative of a general internet population, and certainly not of a typical gimp user.

    Another way of comparing sites is using google page rank. Gimper is 4, which is very high for a forum. It shows that google values links placed on our site (and that is why spammers like to post here).

    We also place as number 6 on searches for 'gimp forum'. It is very important to be on page 1. I just noticed that the few lines displayed by google when displaying gimper in search results are not that good - I will look into this.
