I found a pretty cool lookin' shoutbox for Simple Machines. Check it out, I think it would be a cool addition.

No way! Shoutboxes kill forums. If you add a shoutbox, what is the point of the forum? ??? I am on a lot of popular design forums and none of them have shoutboxes for that reason. :)

nah it'd be fun to have a shoutbox i think ookie ur really into adding ideas for our forum and when other people have ideas saying that their ideas shouldn't be added

This idea has come up on a number of forums, but it has been knocked back for this reason, "What is the General Discussion Area for?" If this was a chat site, yes a shoutbox would be great, but not on a design site.

No. But seriously, trust me when I say a shoutbox is great for idle chatter you wouldn't wanna put into an entire topic. Also, its good when ppl need a quick answer or a link to a tutorial.
