Apply effect to multiple layers at once?

Okay, so I'm trying to make an animated .gif but the images are too dark. I created an image sequence from a .mov file using Quicktime, then opened the image sequence in GIMP using the "Open as layers" option (I'm using GIMP 2.6.6 on Mac OSX 10.4.11, if it matters). I upped the brightness on a few of the layers and I like how it turned out, but I don't want to have to do that manually for 163 layers! Is there a way to apply the increased brightness effect to all of the layers at once, instead of changing it one at a time?

idk if u could merege them down apply the layes and then get them apart again...maybe try that...pls post the outcome!

I don't think there is a way. But 2.6 remembers the effect setting for a lot of the color options so it will make the task less daunting.

What do you mean by that?

Say for instance that you apply a levels effect to a layer. If you go back to the levels there's a pulldown tab and the last effect you applied will be at the first option.

Have you searched for batch processing in Gimp? That might work.
