Adding text to a Photo

I am trying (without much luck) to add text to a photo.
The photo is 8x10 in size, and I want to put text at the bottom,
on a white background.
I have been trying to do this for two weeks and its driving me crazy,
so hopefully someone can help.

Make sure your photo is on the background. Click the text tool. Click towards the bottom of your photo and type in your text in the dialog that pops up. Change the size, color, font, etc. and reposition it to your liking...
