I've been using The Gimp for about two years now and stayed out of forums and the like, not much of a joiner.
I just spent about a day trying to get the latest version working on my new computer and after many different installation strategies I've simply decided to go back to the version that doesn't crash for me and wait a few months longer before again upgrading. In that whole process, of trying to find answers online to my repeated crashes I cruised thru here and read a few of the forum threads. I liked the helpfulness of people and thought maybe I'd join in, there is plenty I don't know about photo processing (Rolls eyes, more I don't know than do know.) but nor am I a complete novice by now, so straddling that middle ground I might be able to help understand why something that seems "obvious" to the more experienced/expert just is not sinking thru for the person asking the questions. lol.
