Help Me Create a Gimp How-To

and what should I write tutorials about? I don't see a section dedicated to "basic tutorials" so...?

basic tutorials, as in using certain tools and such, will be placed with the article about the tool. for example, who ever is in charge of writing the brushes page gets to make the brush tutorial. (We haven't gotten that far yet, though...)

looks promising. wish I could help out but I'm pretty much stretched out as it is. plus I have a few projects I need to fish before I start my full time studies again

If there are a set of questions that newbies ask repeatedly, maybe it would be worth it for the forum staff to pin a thread to the top of the Gimp Help forum titled something like "Before you Post, Read This First!"

I think you can even include FAQ's for beginners
You can get some ideas from the gimp help section

Hey i was just reading through some older posts, and this dude Houston was looking for some courses for the GIMP.. SGlider I know you already replied to that thread, and that we are kind of busy writing the things we are now, but i think that after we get done with some of the stuff we are writing now, we could start to aim at writing some of the more basic courses. I know Ajit has expressed the wish to write some tutorials, esp. basic stuff, so I thought that he could start with that once he gets done with what ever he's doing now.

What do you think??

Well, that's what this whole book is about. It will have basic tutorials in it along with the articles and such about the tool. The tutorials will show different things you can do with each tool.
