tablet problem mouse vs. pen

When I draw with my tablet mouse, the cursor and the pencil/ paint brush are in sync.
When i draw with my tablet pen, the cursor will be at at bottom left and the "brush/ pencil;" will be at upper right

The mouse and pen work fine in paint net I'm using windows XP with service packs up to date. the tablet is a Genius
Using gimp 2.8

Suggestions??

I borrowed a Wacom tablet.
Installed the driver, plug in tablet, draw.

Tablets and their problems :/
Mine gave me sleepless nights as well, mostly because I tried compiling my own drivers on a different OS... anyway.
You usually have (program-specific) options on your tablet, and some of them might be messing with Gimp or interfering with Gimp's own tablet options. Try searching through the different option menus. If that doesn't help, try a reinstall from scratch.

You could also go ask the genius forum... if that exists, and see if anyone there have had the same problems or used a genius tablet with gimp.
