I cannot change hair colour

Hi guys,

I have changed eyes and lips; I have added makeup etc... but for some reason no matter what I do I can't change hair colour. I downloaded 2.8 thinking maybe the original dll was flawed but still no luck.

Sequence:

New Layer
Overlay or Normal (neither worked)
Transparency
Paths Tool
Selection From Path
Colour Balance (and other attempts with Hue etc...)

and colour does not change. What am I doing wrong? I have checked out tutorials and I have followed YT videos to the tee.

It sounds like you're applying color balance to a blank layer. Make a copy of the original layer and then try changing it.

Yea pretty much what David said.

If you want to use a new layer, you have to go:
- New Layer
- Overlay/whatever
- Paths Tool / selection tool etc.
- Select region
- Fill with brown/yellow/black (depending on color)
- Play with opacity and layer modes and colors.

thanks guys, working now. It's the healing tool that is driving me nuts now
