Okay, this probably sounds stupid but here goes.

I use Snipping Tool to capture some images.
On others, I can "Copy Image" and also "Copy Image Location"
These both put them into my Windows Photo Gallery.

My question, is how on earth can I resize and change the dps of them?

For example, I show you all the cover for Follow the Raven with the ravens on it. I wanted to use it for my CreateSpace version but it didn't have the right size or right dps in order to be accepted.

Cam GIMP help me make those changes?

Gimp does not really care much about the dpi, it is just a value in the file info. So a 1000x1000 pix image @ 100 dpi is still just a 1000x1000 pix image even if the dpi setting is different.

Gimp will start off so that one image pixel corresponds to one screen pixel. You can display the difference by going into the 'View' menu and turning 'dot-for-dot' off.

Resizing and changing the dpi value ?

Do any selection & cropping to your image, then as a final procedure go into the 'Image' menu then 'Scale Image' set the width/height and x/y (dpi) resolutions. Save your new image.
