no because general discussion is exactly that. its a general discussion, which is about anything. we just don't need the pointless stuff. but i'm kinda confused about the fairy land thing. you can't really tell whats fairy land and what's a general discussion. it'll confuse everyone at the forum. it confuses me. i think you should probably just get rid of it. or, you should change the way the sub sections are organized.
the general gimp category should contain gimp only stuff. you should make another category and name it "general discussion"
inside the general discussion category, you should have "off-topic" which would serve as the original general discussion, "fun stuff" (with post count disabled), maybe a spam section (post count disabled of course), a help section (which would serve as help for anything and everything, except gimp cause that has it's own section), an introduction section, a test section (cause some people aren't use to some of the forum's features), a forum help section, and a graveyard, to put all of the locked & old stuff in (and of course people aren't allowed to create new topics in it or respond to anything in it).
in the general gimp category, you should add the tutorials, gimp help section, gimp competitions, etc. everything else should stay as it is.
and you should have them in this order:
General Section:
-Forum Rules & Guidelines
-Introductions
-Off-Topic
-Fun Stuff
-General Help Section
-Forum Help Section
-Test Section
-Spam Section
-Graveyard
Gimp Category:
-Tutorials
-Gimp Help Section
-Gimp Competitions
-Gimp Resources
Graphics:
-Showcase: (it'll have the sig subsection and everything else will be the show off stuff)
