animated horse .gif question

Hello to all, I'm wondering if what I have in mind is possible?

I'd like to create a single .gif file which includes four seperate .gifs within it, but each of the four .gifs loops infinitely at a different frame rate.

basically i want to make this picture:




with these gifs happening in place of the still images:

upper left:



upper right:



lower left:



lower right:


can it be done? i can't figure out how!

thanks to any and all suggestions. this is for an album cover, by the way.

i don't think it can be done but here's what you might try.

first layer with the horses where you want them
next layer change the one you want to go the fastest but leave the others alone
next layer change the first again and then the second fastest leave the other two alone
continue with the third...etc.

so the first corner changes every time, the second every other time, the third each three frames and the forth every four.

the idea is to leave the slower ones in place. i guessing you won't see changes in them if that part of your over all image stays the same.
