What file format does a file(pic) need to be to import it into GIMP? Can you convert a file from one format to another so that it can be imported into GIMP?
Note: i want to insert a logo onto an existing template that im painting. One site that i found has a lot of logo's with formats: AI, EPS, CDR and PDF. most of the stuff is in EPS. i didn't know how all that worked. i'm looking a little deeper to find a related post.
When you click File, Open there's a dropdown menu at the bottom of the window that shows all the file formats. Gimp will open EPS files if you have Ghost Script installed. It will also open PDFs with the right plugin.
Make sure to get the correct version of Ghost Script for your platform, and set the PATH variable. Ghost Script supposedly sets the PATH for you on install, but i have never had it do that for me.I have always had to set it manually. Then restart your computer. You should then be able to start Gimp, and open PDF, EPS, and a few other image types.
