Gimp crashes on start

Hi all, brand new here....
would really like to like to Get Gimp working.
Current setups here....
OSX 10.4.11 on G4 PPC MDD
My X 11 App. info says 1.0 (Installed from Tiger DVD when I got Tiger, many moons ago and seems functional with other xApps.
Tried many times to update X11 but no success anywhere..
I get this error page when I try to run it the way you described here with opening the MacOS Package file. NG
will attempt to upload a pic of it... (looks like it took)
I have Gimp 2.4.5 in my Apps folder and tried ddbl click it there also... NG
So, where might I go from here ?

As mentionned on the downloads page, you will need X11 1.1.3 or better. Just use "software update" to update your X11 to a more recent version.

Yes, I have been to the downloads page and tried all that.

Software Update, from the Apple menu ?

When I run that, which I do every week, it has no effect on X11 1.0 and there is no way I know of, how to get it to update my X11 from 1.0 to 1.1.3

Can or should I re-install it off my Tiger Install DVD ?

Yes it should be Software Update from the Apple menu

Now, this is very weird that it does not appear there because it should :/ Maybe try restarting your computer, but otherwise i don't really know. Unfortunately Apple do not put any recent X11 downloads on their website so there is no other way around i know of

Yes, I know how it looks, I keep a close watch on keeping things up to date here..
I did notice something though.
For some reason I had X11 in my Applications / Utilities Folder thinking that that may be the reason it never got updated,
not really sure of how it ended up there
so, I copied it over to just the Applications folder-did a re-start and tried software update again...
but it did not help...

I'm all ears if you have any other ideas.... thanks

Well, kept at my Gimp problem and it seems solved now...
Just a simple double click on Gimp in my Applications folder and Bang Gimp, up and running just fine..
Weird part is X11 still says it's 1.0 here

I Found a site that had the Mac.Pkg files for OSX 10.4.11 "X11User.pkg" and "X11SDK.pkg"
I took a chance and just reinstalled them into my system without deleting thing first
and all my problems seemed to be solved now.
