Business Card Layout

I'm looking for a proper way to create business cards with gimp.

Both vertically and horizontally.

Mainly just the layout for standard sized business cards, with 8 (or more for vertical) on one page ready for print.

Unfortunately I've tried all of those and they never turned out right.

My biggest problem is when I print them, they're either way too small or way too big.

I would love a tutorial on how to make this card, also with proper printing instructions:

For printing you're on your own. The design is also relatively easy, a dark green to a lighter green gradient on the back, and a similar gradient on the front.

It may look easy, but I still don't know how to do it. Especially creating that simple wave shape.
