Oh... Okay, seems like gimp does not replace the theme file...
you could have just deleted the theme file and re install

I wish the themes package came with the original as well, so I could go back and forth. I teach a beginner class using Gimp, and don't want any confusion as to what Gimp looks like. But I like somthing different when I'm not teaching....

Copy the original to a non-gimp related folder and when you want the original gimp theme, copy it back.

You can either delete the gtkrc file and Gimp will rewrite it.
OR
You can go into the bin folder and click on the theme selector execute file there.

light gimp hurts my eyes, so the moment themes on 2.7 didnt work as planned i hit delete :P
