I'd say throw a grunge example into the pot and the previews are awesome.

They are very cool although I can't take credit for them. Just stirring up conversation, and trying to inspire the community and give them some ideas on what can be done with GIMP. I do agree that a few grunge textures would have been the cherry on the cake for this post. Perhaps I'll hunt some down.
