i used anim8or at one time..its pretty neat and simple, but its very limited: www.anim8or.com
its for windows only though

I've never seen that one before, however it looks as if it will run just fine under wine ""
You just need to make sure you configure the settings in wine for it correctly.

yes it actually does run good under wine. when i had ubuntu i used anim8or with wine. it lagged a tiny bit but it was ok.

Yeah most apps will run a little slower in wine then when installed on windows, although there are quite a few apps that run better  :P ;D
The only apps I really even need that are only for windows are photoshop, but I don't really even use it much :P
