Pepsi could almost sue you it is indeed very similar! But that's okay. It's really cool. Some reflection of the floor in the bottom of the sphere would be cool

I couldn't figure out how to fix that. I used the GMIC filters in the color category to great the metallic effect (Fast Tone Mapping on a gradient shape > User Defined) and it consistently does that. How would you suggest fixing it without trimming the edge off with the path tool?
Palantir? Isn't that the thing from Lord of the Rings that Mari found? Or is it something else and I'm just confused XD

A little stroke with the blur tool seems to be exactly what is needed...

Quick update, smoothed them edges and added the reflection

Hm, I think they need to wrap to the ball a bit, not a perfect reflection.

Mmhm...I gave it a shot with using fish eye filters and such, but it looks like I'll have to use IWarp and do it manually (if that's considered manual)

Wow very impressive , I like it.
The result is clean, I 'm surprise because I though that was made with Inkscape .
Gimp give some good result when you've got knowledge ( I have so many work to do )
