Stop looking at tuts. Once you've gotten a feeling for gimp or ps, they start becoming increasingly pointless for a few reasons: most good taggers don't do tuts, they do psd's; following tuts is like a handicap, you should develop the ability to judge for yourself what you need to do. So my advice is that you start looking at psd's. If you don't know where to find good ones, I'd suggest you start here.

As for this tag, my biggest complaint would be the quality. After fixing that, you could work on your wow factor. I personally would tweak the atmo and try to make more dramatic lighting to give it pop.

dont listen to him. You can look at a ton of tuts, even after you have developed your own style. I would like to adjust what 25k said to 'continue looking at tuts and recreating the techniques. just dont "copy" the styles and effect as they are presented in the tut. Basically there are tuts intended for beginners to get comfortable with a program. All tuts at a higher level are to show you some tricks and most importantly INSPIRE you

Well I kinda agree with 25000st point there. The thing actually is that you don't usually see many great tutorials that explain anything beyond beginner-intermediate level. Most of the effects we see in them are confined to that particular sig itself. And usually you already know what to do with them. And I am sure you all agree that finding tutorials for lets say.. 'EPIC' sigs is a bit hard. Whereas most psd/xcf packs you find at deviantart are AMAZING. To me they help me more than any tutorials. Primarily because when I look at the stuff inside a good psd, it clears a lot of my concepts about depth, composition etc. They give you the ability to play with the layers and effects inside which also in return greatly help you.
The only tutorials I ever found that helped me learn something useful about signature making were...
