Overall it's quite good, but the steps should really be more detailed for a "super simple beginner nooby" tutorial. At one point, you just say "make a gradient map with any default gradient" or "fill the layer with the pattern XY". Back when I was a beginner, I definately wouldn't have made it past this point.
The tutorial as a whole seems a bit rushed to me. For beginner tutorials, you really have to take your time with the single steps. For example, in one of my first tutorials (1.5 years ago ) I made a screenshot of the different tools and the settings etc. You can find it here: http://arzoroc.deviantart.com/art/Begin ... -183675947

Mine wasn't perfect either, there's still a lot of room for improvement, but it's for demonstration purpose only anyway

I remember saying Fill The Pattern with Stripes Fine though lol.
