5 things you can do with linked layers

Hello dear Gimpers,

Layers which are linked together can all be affected by the move (the most commonly used), rotate, scale / resize, perspective and flip tools. To toggle the links or chains, click the chain looking icon next to the eye icon in the layers tab. You can shift + click to toggle all or only one. Make sure that a linked layer is active.

So next time you want to resize a lot of pictures into same sizes, open them as layers and link them!

Linked ayers are affected by tools and not filters... So... Yeah...

And if you have the filter "Layer Groups" you can delete linked layers and more.

Is it the LayerGroups subsystem for Gimp Rod?
Latest ver. was uploaded on June 30, 2009. A little old already. So is this the feature that will be added to the next Gimp releases?

No actually in Gimp-2.7.4 which is already available you get actual folder icons to place layers in.You can name each of these folders.
Mig-Layer-Groups.scm is just a linker script.It uses linked layers to do different things to them.
And yes that is the correct script you mentioned above.

And if you need to use a filter on multiple layers... i think i made a short tut on that once...

Knew it. You can also link paths together and use the same tools.
