Did you go into your user docs and delete every rc file and the gimp folder and all its subfolders?
Sometimes a gimprc file can be found outside the gimp folder in user docs.

I was having trouble installing Python for gimp 2.6.11 on my laptop, until i went through the user docs folder in EVERY user folder and deleted them all. Then it installed perfectly...

If you installed Gimp for "all users" , those folders (the gimp 2.0 folders), will still be in those other user folders even if you un-install Gimp through control panel/add remove programs.

Are you using Windows or a different platform?

I installed 2.7.1 now (it's great btw, will you add it to your general Gimp section Rod?), and I'll try to install it at the 2.7.1 plugin files later ..

You've got the "Gimp News" section in the magazine, and the new 2.7.1 should definately be mentioned, if not reviewed.

BTW: It still doesn't work .. grr

I took the News section out and replaced it with Newcomers Page...stuff for new Gimpers.
As it is we have 16 pages total possibly more.

Maybe we can add a news section in future issues.
Check out the Magazine area of the forums and tell me what you think of the layout.
