In ubuntu I didn't know where to put custom brushes etc, so once i found out i decided to make a tut,
    this is based on http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=628140

    1) Open your home directory by going Places-->Home Folder
    [IMG]
    2) Press Ctrl+h (this will show all hidden files and folders in this directory)
(or edit preferences n the first tab, show all hidden files folders and backups here you will be able to see it whenever u go into ur home dir unless u hit ctrl h :))
    3) Open the .gimp-2.4 folder (it will look exactly like the folder in your user folder in windows)
In this folder just add whatever you'd like to add such as brushes in the brushes folder, etc...
Brushes, gradients, etc may also be added in a directory such as usr/share/gimp or something like that but this is much harder to get to than in your home folder  :)
Sorry for the images taking a while to load, they are large so please be patient  :)

    short but useful tut :D
But I dont use ubuntu :D
for Windows users just go to X:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\share\gimp\2.0
where X is the letter of drive and program files is the folder where you hav installed GIMP :D

im using the hardy beta and things are working as they were in gutsy gibbon,
so the folder is in the same spot, however u must start gimp first and u cant add brushes or anything while doing stuff in synaptic or apt-get that involves  :wilber:
otherwise it would seem it's the same, but at first the folder wasn't there at all cuz i was installing gimp stuff with synaptic
so just so u know, also im gonna stick this tut on my blog....
