    Hello everyone,

When I startup Gimp on my Windows 7 32 bit system, I get a lot of errors during the startup screen. It says that it can find the access point in intl.dll. I already tried to start it with administrator rights, but this didn't worked neither.

I hope someone can help me.

    Cheers,
    Derk

After holding the Enter button for like 5 minutes it does start. Re-installation doesn't work.
It can't find the dll to start the (at least, that's what I think) *.exe files. See attached screen shot for more info. Translation: Header: ''Video.exe - access point not found'' content: "Can't find access point of procedure libintl_setlocale in DLL-file intl.dll"... And that about 100 times with all kinds of *.exe files.

I know it doesn't answer the main problem: how about using Gimp portable for the time being? I believe that it is working in Windows 7 too. As for Gimp not starting, maybe a folder or the exe file is renamed that's why it is not found? I have little idea... :wilber:
Edit: --> The download Link <--

IF you are running 2.6.11 ...

Download this set of 2.6.11 default DLL files
    <a class="postlink" href="http://www.mediafire.com/?o8aaxnvvwcdll27" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mediafire.com/?o8aaxnvvwcdll27</a>
and place them in you bin folder.Let windows go ahead and overwrite the ones in there. Then just restart Gimp.

IF you are running 2.7 do NOT use these they are completely different library files.

That link should have taken you to the MediaFire page where the download can be found, here is the direct link.

Our teacher tried to access its learning trough IE...
    5 mins later, "CLICK MOZILLA"
2 mins later she has logged in trough mozilla and showed us what she needed to show.
Then we sat mozilla as standar browser and when she was ready to shut down, IE popped up!

I had the exactly same problem. I just got it working.
    - I downloaded "Download GIMP 2.6.11 – Installer for Windows XP SP2 or later" from gimp.org
    - And then, feeling paranoid, also the user manual.
    - Installed both. Tried to start the Gimp, and it didn't work.
    - Then I downloaded this:
Transferred it to the Gimp file.
Opened the "2.6.11 default DLL file" and searched the "intl.dll" from there and copied it.
Then went to the file titled "GIMP-2.0" > lib > gimp > 2.0 > plug-ins and then pasted the "intl.dll" file there.

And now the Gimp opens normally.

I hope that helps. I was so frustrated when I couldn't get mine to work and when it (miraculously, in my opinnion) did I just had to share.
