Hello; After trying several quite drastic methods for preventing the "User Account Control" uac window ["Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer" - yes/no] from popping up in Windows7 (without actually uninstalling the uac - which I would like to keep for the security benefits) every time gimp runs I discovered: http://registry.gimp.org/node/25106 In my case, I just uninstalled Gimp 2.6 (then in "C:\Program Files (x86)\GIMP-2.0") and then reinstalled it in C:\WinBin\GIMP-2.0 and the problem vanished ! Hope others find this helpful. -- Friar Broccoli Robert Keith Elias, 4780 Ave. Gobert, Quebec Quebec, Canada G1P 1G6 --------- I consider ALL arguments in support of my views ---------
