So, I work with high res images, and I am an old school raster cat. In photoshop, I like to use enormous highly feathered erasers to take partially filled layers (and often gradient fills) back so as to create tasty soft transparent shapes. In Gimp, there is a limit to the maximum size of the eraser, that is actually pretty small when your working with an image 3000 x 3000 pixels. Is there a way to make the eraser larger? Or is there a way to create a gradient erase? The only solution I can use is to make an elipical selection, feather it, then move it, deleting as I go, but I would hope there is a way to find a more intuitive solution.
