Could someone please tell me how to deselect/unselect a tool?
I downloaded and installed Gimp 2.6. Started it and selected brush from the
tool box. Now whenever I start Gimp the brush tool is therefore and I cannot
find a way to get rid of it. I have a G4 with 10.4.11.
    Thanks very much in advance.
    Cheers

im not exactly sure what you're trying to say...
if ur saying you can't close the paintbrush tab, then just right click the tool bar then select tool options then when you are using other tools it will show that selection

sorry im not sure if thats what you mean ???

I hadn't realised that the brush tool was selected by default and could only be deselected when some other tool was selected. I was trying to deselect brush without selecting another tool. But two earlier posts in this thread by knowledgeable people have shown that it is not possible unless I download the source code and remove the default selection.
I suppose I'll get the hang of it since I know now what to expect.

    Cheers

What was that for? I don't see a reason why you would need to unselect a tool...
