Well I've been doing minor projects here and there like a calculator, stop watch, pixel editor, text editor, etc: etc: in JavaScript, and/or JQuery, and I decided after seeing another web OS today I decided I'd like to make one just for fun. So you guys will see what has been added, what I'm working on, etc: etc: in this topic. I'm going to use HTML, CSS, and JQuery when developing this. Most likely I'll implement PHP with it later on, if you wanna develop software for the app just hit me up via pm, and I'll see what I can do.

Spent a couple hours thinking of how I wanted it designed, and drew a couple templates, but this is just a mock-up right now. I might have the software listed below with arrows to navigate threw it, but I'm thinking Accessories, Games, Drawing, Internet, Office, and System.

All made by me, no stocks except the world one, which I'm gonna change later on I just have it there to remember the order in which I want everything at.

Yeah I get what you mean however I can only make a basic pixel editor online, I don't know how to make an image editor or anything like that yet.

Sorry guys been pretty busy, but this is what I've got done so far as far as designing it goes, all I left left is the GUI for the applications, and then it'd be time to work on coding the base of it before I can go on with anything else regarding the OS. (still have no clue what I'm gonna do with that taskbar yet)

I may update the music, and video icon, but I'll leave it for now

I just thought of something last night, and it's still a thought process, however I'd like to hear what your guy's ideas on it.

So as far as applications go, how about making this a FULL CLOUD OS, meaning all the applications are "cloud based" which obviously what I mean is I come across so many people that don't know about these great web apps out there like Sumo Paint, jsFiddle, Google Docs, PDF Escape, Meebo, and much much more. So all the apps are online apps, in which the url to the app will be visible on the panel, as well as the name of the web app. (Finally figured on what to use that thing for). Additionally social networking sites will be listed, online email clients, etc: etc:

So this is a way where some sites can get more views, plus it'll help people see how good these web apps are, and maybe they'll keep their money, and not spend $1,000 on 3ds max, photoshop, dreamweaver, etc: when there's some really great alternatives.

However some software I'll be developing myself for the site, like a calculator, as I don't see a need to make, or find a web app for that as they'res so many, and it's an easy thing to make. Plus I can style it up, and make it look like in Gimp, and JQuery :D

Also I'll hold a small contest for users to design the GUI for the web browser, and the regular window that'll hold the applications. The reason why I'll be holding this contest is I won't be able to get to making the GUI for about a month, cause I'm very busy, but It'll be a way to test your skills, and ideas for the GUI, and how you'd like to see it look.

Also just for the sake of it, you can also design the calculator for me, and any other app that you come up with, which will give you extra points.

The top 3 winners will be the first to try out the web os once completed. As you may know (if you know me) I'm poor, and have no source of income so I have no prize for the winners, except to be the first to test the web os. (I'm also gonna message my good online friend Daniel Davis aka Gigafide/Tinkernut on YouTube, and hey'll be able to test it as well before the release)

So what do you guys think, is this a good idea???

This is what I've been able to create so far, but like it's still an idea process of what I said above, however cause of what I said above, I finally was able to come across a name.

Dude if it's the "Cloud OS", I came up with a good idea of something you may like (not trying to force this on you). Okay, you can make a box that's called a cloud. Empty space is the sky. But you can add icons, bookmarks, whatever to your cloud, and add up to ___ amount of clouds in your sky.

I used these icons cause I already had em from NewElement. They're just for example.
