It basically means "install to the default location and run the program". Is this suppose to be helpful?

You have just installed it the usual (automatic) way and you had no problems hence - you haven't had a problem in the first place.

Don't worry. At least the thread is being bumped. I wonder if our hero - Gimper visits the thread from time to time. I don't want to bother him with PM.

I've got Windows Vista 64 and Pidgin+GTK, and I can't have two different GTK themes going. Perfectly fine with that, the issue is that I cannot even get back to the default GIMP 2.6.7 theme I had now unless I have the GIMP themes thing installed, which messes up Pidgin. It was MS-Windows, but it looked entirely different than what I get now without the program. Before the startup bar was green and the theme was.. Vista-style, now all I can get is Classic Windows.
I've been at it for a little over 2 hours, uninstalling, reinstalling, trying to figure out how to get it back to the way it was before I messed with the themes. They're very nice, Gimper, but does anyone know how to have the default theme without this program?

From my experience the installer seems to have problems with installations in directories other than the GIMP default. Check your Program Files folder to see if it copied the rest of the files there and then merge them with your actual GIMP installation.

Used for years until I switched to Vista. Would love to know if anyone has been successful installing Gimp Themes v1.0 in a Vista machine with Gimp 2.6.8. If so, I'd like to pick your brain for paths, folders, etc. Thanks.

I've been searching the web if it's possible to add the cool themes in Gimp portable
I have a hint but can't do their tricks...the gtk something won't run, and the "merge folders" to the next comment is it copy then paste?

I've also encountered a problem that affects the fonts in the themes and can't see them, indeed the bright ones are really flashy. It seems that every time a new Gimp is installed in my PC, reinstallation of the Gimp Themes fix the problem. Have you tried it?, if it don't work maybe its because of the name of the folders for Gimp?

Installing Gimp Themes for Gimp-2 not in default directory

Hi for anyone that's been googling like me on how to install Gimp Themes for Gimp that's not installed in the default directory C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0

    1. Download and install Gimp Themes for Windows.
Gimp Themes will automatically update c:\program files\gimp-2.0
    sub-directories.

    2. Copy C:\Program Files\Gimp-2.0\bin\Gimpthemes-v1.0.exe to the bin
sub-directory of your gimp installation. (create shortcut to this exe to
    start Gimp Themes).

    3. Copy all the theme folders from C:\Program Files\Gimp-2.0\Share\Themes
to the themes sub-directory of you Gimp installation.

That's it ! Happy Gimp Themes

    David
