Being the new kid(*) on the block won't prevent me from pestering admins :), so:

A nice feature on several other Gimp forums is smilies that are actually icons from Gimp (toolbox, pointers...). This is very nice when explaining things to the newbies.

(*) very figuratively speaking of course...

That's definitely a good idea. What sorts of icons? Tools?

I usually google them and then copy/paste them here. But I agree on the general idea. The tool icons would be the easiest ones, but every single menu point as an icon could potentially be useful too. Let's see what Pawel says.

Also, about you ofnuts: Even though you've only been here for some days, you probably helped more people (in a very good way) than most normal users around here! Keep up the good work! :)

Oh yeah, he's the god of the help section on GimpTalk, so I'm certainly glad to have him here :)

Sounds like a good idea. :wilber: is already here, but if you have other icons you want to add just let me know.

Ohh, ooh, may I give it a shot? I'll just use the icons from the GIMP Toolbox and set them on a rounded rect. background. Its easier than doing all new icons, since the GIMP ones are easily distinguishable and new ones would confuse.

Apparently there are 2.6 icons, not the 2.8 so if you want to try it go ahead. I will be installing the ones I got for now...

    Edit: installed!
