Thanks for posting this script Average Joe.

It sounds like it is exactly what I need (i.e. copy a selection from several layers and paste them into their respective layers, somewhere else on my image). However, I can't seem to make it work. :(

I link (i.e. the little chain at the left of the eye logo in the layer window) 2 layers, select a zone on my image, and go to 'Float Linked Layers (Copy)'. But Gimp then returns an Error message: "Error: ( : 32689) non-list argument to append"

Could anyone help me fix this?

PS: Not sure that it matters but just in case: I use GIMP 2.8.14 on a Mac (OSX 10.9).
