    Windows users!

I have found a way to re-install the latest version of Intltool!
Cross your fingers for a successful compile.

Though I am almost positive I will need more dependencies...maybe not though.
We shall see soon enough ... rofl insanely

    More to come...

so it "hacks" its way into a program and extracts the translateable strings ?

Actually the only way to have it install and work for compiling Gimp, is to download it with cygwin and another plug-in cygintl-2.dll

I was able to get it working, and ran into a problem with GEGL...
I was able to compile BABL, but GEGL needs it installed first to be able to execute it's own install...weird i know.
Anyways i compiled BABL, but GEGL can not find it now...i am so close to compiling Gimp 2.7.2.
I believe once i have GEGL compiled the rest will most likely be a few extra dll and exe files needed as dependencies.I should be able to get those easily through cygwin updates. =)

Getting there, meanwhile PhotoComix has uploaded a few source files to the registry, those with Ubuntu should be able to easily compile for your system, plug-ins included...
    Map Object - large preview
    Gimpressionist - larger preview
    Lighting - Larger preview

    Three new ones from PC...enjoy!
I will be trying to compile these into binaries also, with Gimp 2.7.2 compile.
I assume if i replace the old src files with these, Gimp will still compile with the new preview settings.

I'll keep you all informed of my work on this.

Its really too bad it isn't down loadable with cygwin as a package.
Because then it would download and install automatically. =)

Language as in Human Language. Like French, German, etc.

From what I gather the Intltool is best used for translating human readable strings from one language to another. Or is the OP using the Intltool for a different purpose? That's what I would like to know. I'm just trying to figure out what use Intltool would be to a Gimp user.

If all he wants is Windows binaries of Gimp 2.7.x then he could simply download them here.

I'd rather just do that on Linux. That way you don't spend your time punching yourself in the face.

It's easier on Linux with build tools installed.
    Code:
    ./configure
    make
    make install

I'm on Windows 7 right now. but I also have Linux. It's easy to use.

    Even if it's pricey ($0).

Ahh but it's so much more fun to have the build environment setup on Windows. Then i can just compile each new version of Gimp.
Some of the tools for Gimp require INTLTOOL to be installed.
Anyways i am past that now...got GEGL to find BABL now also
Now i am having an issue with compiling GEGL - it configures and then when i type in make...i get this error

    Compaq_Owner@FAMILY-ROOM ~/gegl-0.1.2
    $ make
    make all-recursive
    make[1]: Entering directory `/home/Compaq_Owner/gegl-0.1.2'
    Making all in gegl
    make[2]: Entering directory `/home/Compaq_Owner/gegl-0.1.2/gegl'
    Making all in buffer
    make[3]: Entering directory `/home/Compaq_Owner/gegl-0.1.2/gegl/buffer'
    CC gegl-tile-backend-tiledir.lo
    In file included from gegl-tile-backend.h:22:0,
    from gegl-tile-backend-tiledir.c:26:
gegl-tile-source.h:23:23: fatal error: babl/babl.h: No such file or directory
    compilation terminated.
gcc.exe: C:usrlocalincludebabl-0.1babl: No such file or directory
    make[3]: *** [gegl-tile-backend-tiledir.lo] Error 1
    make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/Compaq_Owner/gegl-0.1.2/gegl/buffer'
    make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
    make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/Compaq_Owner/gegl-0.1.2/gegl'
    make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
    make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/Compaq_Owner/gegl-0.1.2'
    make: *** [all] Error 2

Why in blazes is GCC calling up all those directories as one name?
    ie... C:usrlocalincludebabl-0.1babl ...
    Shouldn't it read C:/usr/local/include/babl-0.1/babl ??
